Cabbage Face Mask For Firmer Skin | SKINCARE

Yes, you read that right, a Cabbage Mask for for your face.  A homemade face mask to give you a youthful glow, reduce wrinkles, and in this case, especially to tighten sagging skin. The cabbage face mask for firmer skin is absolutely amazing.

What You Need:

4 Tablespoons of Minced Cabbage

1 Egg White

2 Teaspoons of Rice Flour

Mince your cabbage until you have about 4 tablespoons full. Separate the yolk from the white from your egg, you will only need the white. Then mix everything in a bowl and add the 2 teaspoons of rice flour.

Keep on mixing until you have a smooth yet sticky paste like substance.

Apply evenly to clean, dry face and neck (avoid the eye and mouth areas). You can massage it on in circular motions for about 2 minutes.  Then let it sit for  15-20 minutes.

Wash off with cool, if not cold water (cold is always better as it also helps tighten your pores and firm your skin). Then pat dry. Follow up with moisturizer.

MY PERSONAL 31 DAY MAKEOVER CHALLENGE | WEEK ONE

It’s been a week since I started my personal makeover challenge and I have to say that I think I’m doing pretty good.

I went and actually have my hair highlighted/lowlighted by a professional (insert gasp). I haven’t done that in 6 years. I’ve been doing my hair myself and never being happy with it and kept trying to fix what I messed up over and over again. So I decided to get it done right the first time and I am in love. My six year old says my hair looks like cookies n cream with peanut butter cream *wink*

Still trying to get better at working out…it’s a process right?

I have stepped up my game as far as my wardrobe, even for just running around during my everyday errands.

Again I have failed at documenting my progress with pictures, but that is another goal for this upcoming week/month.

Here’s to new week, more progress, a better version of me!

MY PERSONAL 31 DAY MAKEOVER CHALLENGE

I am a mother. A mother of four.  Not saying being a mother is my excuse, but it kinda is that throughout the years, little by little, I (kinda) stopped caring about my appearance and put little, to no effort, into how I look. I do the basics, get my hair cut, color, maintain my eyebrows, but that’s pretty much as far as goes. On occasion, I do actually brush my hair and use a bit of mascara.

My challenge to myself is to start putting effort back into my appearance. Now I’m not saying full make-up, hair and heels everyday, but being more put together. My Pinterest Board of Fashion Inspiration isn’t all that glam. It’s woman wearing pretty much what I already have in my closet, dark skinny jeans, white tees, cute flats, but it’s how  they are wearing them, with purpose. I’m a no fuss, no muss kinda kinda girl, and I do like to get all pretty every once and awhile, but I don’t just have two hours, nor do I want to spend on my appearance to run errands and clean house. But putting on just a little bit of mascara does wonders for how I feel about myself and straightening hair (which is a chore in it self, but with the help of dry shampoo…).

I’ve also started working-out(ish) for the past three weeks. Nothing to extreme, just squats and yoga. Another thing to help me feel better about the way I look, even I’m not seeing results yet, I’m doing something.

I look in the mirror and don’t like what I see and complain about the way I look, but no one can change how I look or feel, but  me.

I’m also going to hold myself accountable and document my progress and update on here with weekly posts, images, as well to my Instagram and Snapchat.

Hope you follow me along this journey

Greek Yogurt Collections from HASK with Hydrating Fig and Honey | Product Review

I had the chance to review the Hask Greek Yogurt with Hydrating Fig and Honey, which can be found exclusively at Walgreens. The products in this collection have dual components to each product. The shampoo and conditioner both have a dual chamber delivery system – the inner formula is Greek yogurt, which is packed with protein, calcium, minerals, potassium, and vitamins. The outer formula contains essential fruit ingredients, which differs in each of the product lines (there are three). Once squeezed, the inner Greek yogurt formula and outer fruit extract blend together to provide a perfect mixture of ingredients that leave your hair feeling AMAZING.

About the Product
Looking for an indulgent, yet beneficial shower experience?
Look no further than the new HASK Greek Yogurt collection of shampoos, conditioners and deep conditioners. We’ve bottled up rich Greek yogurt and infused it with essential fruit extracts to create a formula that instantly feeds your hair with moisture and floods your senses with delicious fragrances – we promise this isn’t mythology!
Featuring an advanced dispensing system, HASK Greek Yogurt provides a user experience like no other. Each product in the collection features a dual chamber delivery system – the inner formula is Greek yogurt, which is packed with protein, calcium, minerals, potassium and vitamins. The outer formula contains essential fruit ingredients to give your hair the benefits it craves! Once squeezed, the inner Greek yogurt formula and outer fruit extract blend together to provide a perfect mixture of ingredients that leave you with hair fit for a goddess. If nourishing, moisturizing ingredients weren’t enough, HASK has gone one step further to address three of your biggest hair concerns with infusions of delectable fruit extracts.
As part of the Greek Yogurt with Fig & Honey Hydrating Collection, I received the shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner. This is the collection I was hoping to receive, because fig and honey both have such amazing benefits.
Figs are rich in vitamins which provide weightless nourishment for your hair.
Honey is packed with nutrients to leave hair with a glossy shine.

Greek yogurt is filled with so many good-for-your-hair benefits, with calcium, potassium, and vitamins to nourish and moisturize the hair.

The combination of the ingredients in this formula is supposed to help hydrate, nourish, and restore dehydrated hair to its natural beauty.
Greek Yogurt with Fig & Honey Shampoo ($7.49 for 8.25oz / 240ml)-There is an inner tube which holds the greek yogurt, and an outer tube that holds the honey and fig. Once squeezed, the two mix together to form a hydrating, nutrient rich formula to help restore your locks to their former glory. All of the products in this line are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, gluten, and drying alcohol. None of their products are tested on animals, either.
The combination of Greek yogurt and honey, gave my hair the perfect amount of hydration, cleansing all the oils from my hair while leaving it feeling soft, silky, and lightweight. The scent is also positively yummy – rich honey with a hint of fig, not at all overwhelming or artificial. After using this shampoo for about a week, I can definitely say that my hair is no worse for wear – in fact, it’s soft, shiny, and seems a lot less weighed down, and I can get away with washing my hair every other day instead of daily, something that makes me an immediate fan of this shampoo. It’s not drying whatsoever, and lathers very well.
Greek Yogurt with Fig & Honey Conditioner ($7.49 for 8.25oz / 240ml) – The second product I received is the conditioner, which has the same fig and honey. Surprisingly, the formula is incredibly thick and rich; I only need to use about half of what I normally use. It has the same scrumptious scent as the shampoo, and has swirls of the same honey/fig formula. I usually wash and condition my hair first thing when I shower, so the conditioner has time to set while I wash my face, body, shave, etc, which is usually anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
Rich and moisturizing but still lightweight, it makes my oily, dehydrated hair sleek, shiny and soft without weighing it down. Since I only need a small amount , I can see this tube lasting a long time. Conditioner is the product I have the most trouble with when it comes to hair care – most conditioners either weigh down my hair and make it look oily faster, or do the opposite and dry out my hair completely. Overall, this conditioner supplies a good balance of moisture and hydration, and helps keep my hair shiny and frizz-free.
Greek Yogurt with Fig & Honey Deep Conditioner ($2.99 for 1.8oz / 53g) – This deep conditioner is the last product I received from Hask. It doesn’t seem to be sold online, and pricing varies by store, but my local Walgreens has them for about $3 each.  Hask’s deep conditioners are available in three unique formulas: Hydrating, Repairing, and Color Protection.
This packet is honestly huge – a whopping 1.8oz – so I’ve used this twice already and still have more than half the packet left. It has a thicker consistency than the conditioner, and has that warm honey/fig scent as the rest of the line. I took a small amount (twice the size of a quarter) and applied this from the middle of my hair down, focusing on dry ends. After about 5 minutes, it rinsed away clean, and my hair definitely felt softer and looked less dry/straggly near the ends. While I’m not a huge fan of deep conditioners, this is one I would probably repurchase for those times when my hair desperately needs a moisture/hydration boost, since it seems to tackle dry ends with relative ease. While I don’t personally dye my hair at the moment, this would also be a fabulous all-over deep conditioning treatment for those with dry/brittle hair or hair that is damaged from dyes, hot tools, etc.
If you’d like to try out the rest of the Hask Greek Yogurt Collections, head on over to your local Walgreens – they’re sold exclusively there.

Billion Dollar Brows Brows on Point Micro Pencil | Review and Giveaway

Recently, the folks at Billion Dollar Brows sent me four shades of their newly released BDB Brows on Point Micro Pencil.

This is a brand that I’ve wanted to try for a while and am so excited to be able to team up with them for this post. Brows are everything these days and you should never underestimate the power of a strong brow game.

Learn About the Brand

Eyebrows are one of the most important features of our faces – and yet they are often the most neglected.

They believe that beautiful brows are a right, not a privilege. Their products are priced fairly so that you don’t have to break the bank to have Billion Dollar Brows.

NOW THE REAL QUESTION…DOES IT WORK??
I have gone through a lot of brow phases (who hasn’t?), the fuller brow look where you don’t do anything to them. You know, the most unruly and unshapen. I looked pretty rough in high school. And then you FINALLY get a pair of tweezers in your hand and wreaked havoc.
I am in no way a brow expert, but after a lot of tears and horrid pictures, I have figured out what works for me. I love trying brow products and this one is worth talking about!

Easily create hair like brush strokes with this micro pencil’s super-slim precision point to fill in and accentuate your brows. This mechanical pencil does not need a sharpener and covers every hair for maximum color pay off.

Super-fine, self-sharpening tip for precise application

Creates natural, blendable lines that mimic the look of individual hairs

Waterproof and smudge proof formula glides on smoothly and stays in place.

It’s versatile and it works great for someone who has thicker brows as well for someone with sparse brows.

Available in four versatile shades: Blonde, Light Brown, Taupe, Raven. Mix and Match to find the perfect shade for you.

I was sent shades Taupe, Maven, Light Brown, and Blonde. After testing them on my skin, I decided to use Blonde  as it is the closest match with my eyebrow and skin color. Over the past week, I’ve used BDB brow pencil and absolutely love it! The thickness, saturation and creaminess is perfect.
I love the design of this pencil because it does it all. One side has a spoolie and the other has the pencil, which is super fine and perfect for precision. Also, there is no sharpening involved since the pencil side is automatic.
Step 1: First I outline the tail and fill it in. The tail should be darker than the front.
Step 2: Run the spoolie through the tail to make sure it’s nice and blended. Fill in any areas you may have missed.
Step 3: Outline the bottom of the front of the brow and fill in any sparse areas staying away from the inner part near your nose. If you get too close to the inner part, it can look to harsh.
Step 4: With lighter strokes, turn tiny hairs upwards.
Step %: Run the spoolie through everything and blending it and repeat until all sparse areas are filled to your liking.
Step 6: Set with a brow gel.

DERMA E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask and Purifying Daily Detox Scrub | PRODUCT REVIEW

More and more skincare brands are realizing the importance of a thorough skin cleansing or a “skin detox”; and what is amazing is when a brand you already know comes up with an entire green, skincare range aimed to not only cleanse, but naturally draw out all the nasty toxins from the skin. Yes, I am talking about Derma E newest Purifying Range.

Purifying Daily Detox Scrub

Exfoliating is something you need to do at least once a week, to remove dead cells and revitalize your skin at the same time. Unlike most scrubs I have tried until now, Purifying Daily Detox Scrub is visibly infused with activated charcoal and has a grayish, gritty feel to it. It doesn’t feel harsh on the skin, but is definitely thicker in consistency than some of my other, well-loved facial scrubs. Apply a small amount of it on a wet/damp skin and gently massage it in a circular motion, to avoid breaking capillaries on your delicate face. As a result you get almost a squeaky clean, soft skin which is amazing.

Purifying 2 In 1 Charcoal Mask

I am always on a hunt for a new great charcoal mask and luckily this Purifying 2 In 1 Charcoal Mask by Derma E did not disappoint. As any charcoal mask, this one has a similar thick and rich consistency – so when applying, make sure you that you are being generous with it. I have learned that with charcoal masks like this – the thicker, the better. Now once you leave it, don’t let it sit on your skin for longer than 5 minutes as it will be a nightmare to remove later. If you are new to charcoal masks, then it is worth mentioning that you first need to moisten your fingers and gently massage the skin, by gradually removing the mask. Even though it sounds tricky, the results are phenomenal. Again, a great product for someone with an oilier skin type, but that doesn’t mean that a dry skin pals won’t benefit from it.

Does It Work

As a result, I think this brand new Purifying Range by Derma E is quite an impressive one. I have only tried two products, but they are equally great and can work for different skin types. My skin looks and feels amazing.

To My Last Child On Her First Birthday | Personal Post

You made me fight for you every second, of every minute, of every day, since the moment I found out I was pregnant, right up until you took your first breath. You have been a echoing in my heart since the day you first gasped for air, placed by my head and you looked into my tearful eyes and as I gently stroked your beautiful face with my finger.

Even though I am not the perfect mother, I make mistakes every day, I have always tried to give you the best, in every way. You taught me to trust you as you explored your world. You taught me how to let go of a messy house once in a while. You taught me that being present with you is far better than trying to juggle too much at once.

For you have altered me, you have made me enormous with all I contain now: the love, the fear, the wonder, the pride. You have blown out the walls and torn off the roof of who I was before you, and left an openness that is vulnerable, fierce, and free.  Thank God for you, a force of nature, a force of love.

And as you grow into a little girl, your sarcastic eye-brow raise will soon be ever-more perfected, you’ll figure out how to cartwheel, and you’ll learn new words. New things will make you laugh…and cry.

You are so beautifully uncomplicated. You were the piece of me I didn’t know was missing, all along. You make me want to be better and do better, not only as a mother, but as a woman. I know that you are destined for great things, no matter which path you choose in life.

On your first birthday, I wish for you that you keep your sweet disposition, your ease of smile, your curiosity and your watchfulness. I wish for you that you see around you examples of strong, smart, thoughtful, kind, loving people. I wish for me that you stay small enough to curl into my arms before bed for just a little while longer, your hair still damp from a bath, your chubby little fingers wrapped around mine. Let’s just pause, here, now…for a little while, or forever…but I guess all I can truly ask is that you walk slowly and hold my hand.

PREP TRICK FOR MATTE LIPS

I take care of my lips and exfoliate them, use sunscreen, lip balms, moisturizers, etc., but whenever I put on a matte lipstick or lip crayon, it makes them look wrinkly and accentuates the lines. and then I discovered this amazing  trick! If you first swipe on a mattifying balm, the crayon or lipstick goes on so incredibly smoothly, like butter, (hmmm, butter…) It’s awesome! And it seems to stay on longer. Here’s how:
